For joyful embodiment through movement

Nia is a celebration of movement, sensation and being alive in your body.

I am a Blue Belt Nia teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience and what lights me up most is the meeting point between movement, nervous system regulation and somatic integration. My classes are less about “getting it right” and more about coming home to yourself - listening, sensing and allowing your body to lead.

I thrive on supporting people to move with their bodies rather than against them. Through Nia, we explore healing, expression, presence, and pleasure - all through simple, accessible movement that meets you exactly where you are.

What is Nia?

Nia is a holistic movement practice that blends dance, martial arts and healing arts. It is practiced barefoot and guided by music, sensation and choice,  making it deeply adaptable and inclusive.

At its heart, Nia is about:

  • Listening to the body’s signals

  • Moving in ways that feel good now

  • Cultivating joy, vitality, and self-trust

There are no steps to memorise and no pressure to perform. Instead, you are invited to explore how movement feels, not how it looks.

Why Nia is so powerful

Nia works on multiple levels at once — physical, emotional, mental, and energetic. Through consistent practice, Nia can support:

  • Greater body awareness and confidence

  • Nervous system regulation and stress release

  • Emotional expression and integration

  • Improved mobility, strength, and balance

  • A deeper sense of joy and aliveness

Because Nia is sensation-led, it becomes a powerful tool for healing — especially for those reconnecting with their bodies after stress, burnout, or disconnection.

Who Nia is for

Nia is for every body. It is especially supportive for:

  • People seeking joyful, non-judgemental movement

  • Those navigating stress, overwhelm, or life transitions

  • Anyone wanting to reconnect with their body in a gentle, empowering way

  • Movers who value choice, creativity, and self-expression

  • People who don’t feel at home in traditional fitness spaces

You don’t need coordination, flexibility, or fitness experience — just a willingness to listen to your body and move with curiosity.

My approach to Nia

My classes are guided by presence, permission, and play - with a healthy dose of energy, sweat, and joy. I weave together:

  • Somatic awareness and embodied choice

  • Nervous system sensitivity

  • Emotional and energetic integration

  • A deep respect for individual pacing and experience

And at the same time… My classes are known for their high-energy flow, elevated cardio, and seriously good workouts.

Expect:

  • Music that lifts your energy and invites you to move fully

  • A rhythm that builds heat, stamina, and strength

  • Plenty of sweat, laughter, and feel-good exertion

Many people have experienced weight loss, increased fitness and toning in parts of their bodies they didn’t even know existed - all without pushing, punishing or overriding the body. The core of Nia is about learning to listen deeply to your body.

This is movement that is intelligent, joyful, and effective. You leave feeling worked, alive and deeply connected.

Each class becomes an invitation - to move, to feel, to express, to soften, to energize and to leave feeling more yourself than when you arrived.

Nia is not about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering the wisdom already living in your body.
